Richard J Turner Middletown, - Richard J Turner, 63, of Middletown, died suddenly at home, Saturday, August 2, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Matthew Turner and Mary (Slezak) Turner. Rich worked as a cook for the Newport Creamery for more than 40 years. In his youth, Rich was an avid weight lifter and competed in many power lifting competitions throughout New England, placing first in many of the competitions. He was a kind man who loved his family very much. He is survived by his mother, Mary R. Turner of Middletown, RI and his siblings, Carol Lynne Turner of Middletown, RI, Kelly Turner and his wife Melissa of Newport, Lorraine Levin and her husband Stephen of Danbury, CT. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Meg Turner, Michael Patrick Turner, Iveri, Tyler and Rachael Levin, Erica and Keith Kozenski and Dana, Lydia and Paul Montuse. Calling hours will be held on Friday August 8, 2014, from 3-6pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI.Funeral Services are private.
