Beatrice G. Beck

Beatrice G. (Carr) Beck, 82, of Middletown, died on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Beck.Born on August 17, 1935 in Manchester, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Mary Elizabeth (Adams) Carr. Beatrice grew up in Manchester, Missouri, surrounded by her extended family. She married Robert "Bob" Beck in 1955. She and her growing family lived in various locations in St. Louis before settling in Manchester, near her childhood home. "Dee" as her friends and family called her, was a resident of the Forest Farm Assisted Living community for the last nine years, she enjoyed her time in the community and she was awarded the Resident Volunteer of the Year award in 2009. Dee was a parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Middletown. Dee enjoyed sewing, puzzles, gardening, games and a good mystery novel. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She is survived by her children Thomas R. Beck and his wife Patricia of Plano, TX, Christopher G. Beck of Germantown, MD, John H. Beck and his wife Maureen of Portsmouth, RI, and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Allmon and her husband David of Peoria, AZ, and her twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI. Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Veterans Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Forest Farm Assisted Living and the Royal Nursing Home for the wonderful care our mother received as a resident.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Forest Farm Assisted Living Activities Fund, 191 Forest Ave, Middletown, RI 02842.
