Georgianna Elizabeth Rodrigues

Georgianna Elizabeth (Silvia) Rodrigues, 92, of Middletown passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, May 10, 2017. A lifelong resident of Middletown, RI. Georgianna was born on November 14, 1924. Georgianna married the love of her life Domingos, and together raised nine children on the farm in Middletown. A 4H leader for more than 40 years, Georgianna attended many Dairy and Beef cattle fairs. She mothered 4H children form every corner of RI, whom always addressed her as "Granny". Georgianna took such pleasure in caring for others. Working at St. Clare's Nursing Home and Private Home Care.Her belief was to be actively involved in community, state and national government. Her passion for Democratic fundraising skills where second to none.Her faith and belief in life here and after were constant. She was a devoted volunteer at the Middletown Senior Center for 20 years Our mother was a wonderful person who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She was caring and beautiful inside and out. She loved life, family, friends and all animals. One of Mom's favorite sayings was Family First.She raised her children to be strong and determined, just as she was. She was the ultimate lady, who was known for her fashion and style. She cherished each and everyone of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they worshiped her.In her later years she took her farm on the road, selling fresh vegetables on the corner of Valley Road and Green End Avenue from her blue truck.She leaves her children Georgianna Rego and her husband Clarence, Linda Johnson, Arlene Kaull and her husband Charlie all of Middletown, Domingos Rodrigues III and his wife Deborah of Exeter, Patricia LeBeau, Susan Randall and her husband Bob, David Rodrigues all of Portsmouth, and Paul Rodrigues of Middletown.Mrs. Rodrigues also leaves her sisters Florence Fuentes and Dorothea Hagen, Twenty grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Evelyn Corey, mother-in-law of the late Joseph Corey and the late Raymond LeBeau, grandmother of the late Joseph Corey, sister of the late Maryann Young, Manuel Silvia, Louise Perry, Anthony Silvia and Alfred Silvia.Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 9:30AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Lucy's Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI.
