Helen Leona (Woodson) Cofield, 97, of Newport died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at St. Clare Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Willis Cofield.Helen was born July 30, 1919 in Newport, RI, the daughter of the late William and Leona (Myers) Woodson. Mrs. Cofield was a member of Community Baptist Church in Newport. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Joseph Woodson, Wallace Woodson, Muriel Blackwell and Corrine May Woodson.Her calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 6. 2016, from 10:00-11:00 A.M., in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Boulevard, Newport, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM, in the church.
