Irene C. Ferreira

Irene C. Ferreira, 97, of Bristol, formerly of Corys Lane, Portsmouth, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Grace Barker Nursing Center of Warren. Irene was born October 31, 1919 in Fall River, MA. She is the daughter of the late Francisco and Anna (Patricio) Ferreira. She was the wife of the late Armando C. Ferreira. Irene and her husband Armando lived in Portsmouth for over 70 years. She was a member of the Forever Young club AARP. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Church where she was active in the Women's Guild. Irene worked at the former Schneidersons in Fall River as a seamstress, and enjoyed crochet and cards. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even her 4 great-great grandchildren.She is survived a daughter Veronica "Ronnie" Stoker of Portsmouth and a son Richard Ferreira and his wife Barbara of Bristol. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Manuel Ferreira, Mary Correira, Elvira Andresyk, and Lorraine "Lulu" Cabral.Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:30am at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
