Patricia Mary Reilly

Patricia Mary (Ebbitt) Reilly, 89, formerly of Portsmouth, RI and Levittown, NY died on April 12, 2018 at the Grand Island Nursing Home in Middletown, RI. Pat (or Patsy as she was known to family) was the wife of the late William F. Reilly, Jr., Ph.D., and is survived by her three children, William J. Reilly (Marielle), HelenAnne Reilly (Kevin McDonnell), and George F. Reilly (Jennifer). Pat was born March 8, 1929 in Bayonne, NJ, the daughter of the late George F. and Helen (Ryan) Ebbitt. Pat lived her early years in Brooklyn, NY until moving to Levittown after marriage. Her father was a Newport native and Pat spent many summers here as a young girl. In 1964 this summer tradition continued for her own children when they bought a cottage in Portsmouth which the family has enjoyed ever since. After her husband's death in 2011 Pat returned to her family roots and moved to Atria Aquidneck Place where she lived until recently. Pat was informally known as the "Mayor of Atria" and was a resident ambassador and a friend to all of the staff.Pat was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren (she had the vanity license plate GRAM6 for many years) and four great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, Pat was predeceased by her brother and sister, Lt.Col. George F. Ebbitt, Jr., USMC (Ret.) and Sister Helen Anne Ebbitt, RSM.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 18, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 19 at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
