Sheila Marie Hogan

Newport, RI - Sheila Marie Hogan, 85, formerly of 238 Gibbs Avenue, Newport, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown, RI. Born in Taunton, MA on November 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Hogan and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Hogan. Ms. Hogan worked for the telephone company, lastly ATT, for 40 years. She loved painting, often attending art classes at the Edward King House. Sheila also enjoyed gardening and reading in her spare time. Actively involved in her families' lives, she never missed sending a card for every birthday and holiday. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sister Jeanne Pinter of Chicago, IL, her sister Pauline Behrens of Munster, IN, her niece, Cathy Purcell of Middletown, RI, nine other nieces and nephews, nineteen great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Havens. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 4:00-6:00PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, with a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00AM, in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Trinity Catholic School, 188 Main Street, Massena, NY 13662.
