Myrtle Goodwin

Myrtle B. (Pinkard) Goodwin, 86 of Middletown, RI, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was the wife of the late James B. Goodwin.

Born in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of Tom and Callie Pinkard. Myrtle Beatrice Goodwin lovingly known as Mama B and Grandma B was a woman who loved the game of spades, R&B and dancing. Ready to listen at any time and quick to give good advice whether you wanted to hear it or not, Mama B was always a good person to lean on. She was a woman dedicated to her family and gave her sweet loving self to the very end; she will be greatly missed.

Myrtle leaves her children; Anthony C. Goodwin of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Hope (spouse Ricco Hope) of Gales Ferry, CT and Vincent L. Goodwin (spouse Caroline Goodwin Steiger) of Wall, NJ.

She also leaves 7 grandchildren (Alyxandra, Anthony, Mackenzie, Ricco, Riley, Xavier & Mason), 4 great grandchildren (Harmony, James, Carter, Anthony & Chase) as well as her sisters Lula Parker of Parkersburg, WV, and Catherine Mayo of Alexandria, VA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29 at 10:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI followed by a graveside committal service at 10:30am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
