Obituary

Nancy Warwick Tarlton was born April 9, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Merion Station, PA. She was the daughter of the late Paul Reynolds Warwick and Sallie Hill Warwick and the sister of the late Paul Reynolds Warwick Jr.

While a student at Friends Central High School, she played high school basketball, lacrosse and field hockey, in addition to playing amateur teams representing the city of Philadelphia. She graduated as a Dental Hygienist from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a postgraduate for Dr. Louis Grossman and Dr. Emmerson Sausser.

In June 1953, she was married in Philadelphia to Ensign Joe E. Tarlton, USN of Rutherfordton, N.C.

With her Navy husband, she traveled throughout the United States, arriving in Middletown, RI in 1968. Mrs. Tarlton worked with dentists Dr. Gerald Rogers and Dr. Leonard Taddei as a Dental Hygienist for 23 years in their office on Broadway, Newport, RI.

For several years, she owned and operated the event planning company, Coping Inc. She and her husband also operated a Bed and Breakfast in their home in Middletown for eleven years.

Nancy was a member of the United Congregational Church on Valley Road, where she served in many offices. She served as a Deacon for six years.

She is survived by her husband Joe E. Tarlton, a daughter, Dale Anne Tarlton Tagg and late husband Shawn of Portsmouth, RI, son Edward W. Tarlton and wife Kendra of North Kingstown, RI and son Scott J. Tarlton and late wife Dolores of Portsmouth, RI.

There are eight grandchildren in the family: Megan Woodbury and husband Jeremy of Mashpee Ma, Kelsey Tagg of Philadelphia, PA, Jesse Tarlton and wife Olga of New York, NY, Alexandra Staats and husband Evan of Virginia Beach, VA, Brady Tarlton and wife Justine of Jamestown, RI, Erin Tarlton of North Kingstown, RI, James Tarlton of Virginia bch, Va., Jill Tarlton of Portsmouth RI. And 5 great grandchildren.
