It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nathaniel David Anderson, a beloved partner, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on January 25, 2026. Nathaniel was born on May 6, 1957, in Newport, Rhode Island, where he would forge a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Nathaniel, affectionately known to many as "Omelette Man" during his time at Salve Regina University, held a vibrant spirit characterized by his strong sense of humor and an unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. A devoted family man, he is survived by his loving partner, Laura, and his treasured children: David, John, Shannon, Treasray, Monica, Tyla, Lynette, Danyelle, and Alyce. He also leaves behind his devoted siblings: brothers, Jeffery and Michael; and sisters, Toni and Cheryl, 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents, David and Julianna Anderson, and his brother, Robert Anderson.
Nathaniel's passions for life were abundant. He took immense joy in watching wrestling, swimming, and listening to his favorite R&B music. He delighted in cooking, particularly his famous beer can chicken and cheesecakes, which brought joy to many family gatherings. His love for the beach and adventurous spirit, often reflected in his jumps from Van Zandt Pier, will always be remembered by those who adored him.
Though he faced challenges due to disability, Nathaniel remained grateful for the simple joys life had to offer. His favorite colors-red and black-mirrored his vibrant personality, and he left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Calling Hours for Nathaniel will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home at 375 Broadway, Newport RI, from 10:00am-12:00pm.
