Noreen Leota Mosher

September 7, 1938 — March 14, 2024

Mrs. Noreen Leota (Little) Mosher passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday March 14th 2024 to be with her Lord and be reunited with her husband. Born September 7th 1938 to Howard L Little and Julia L (Wingate) Little in Berkley, Massachusetts she was the baby of the family. She took great strength from her sister Norma (Little) Barry, Howard L. Jr., Albert Little, Hubert "Huck" Little, John "Jack" Little and Ronald "Bunny" Little. The family moved to Newport seeking better opportunities when Noreen was just a little girl.
After graduating as the first class from the new Roger's High School facility in 1958 she worked for Lincoln Department Store in downtown Newport. One day she asked this young man, Donald, who worked at his brother's gas station for a parking space at the Gulf Station. Parking in downtown Newport was tough then as well. Eventually he found one for her and after a six-month whirlwind romance they were married at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Newport on April 18th 1959. This was a love affair that would last 61 years until Donald Sr's passing in early 2021.
They would have two children Tammy (Mosher) Patton born in 1961 and Donald L Mosher born in 1967.
Noreen worked for Perrotti's Drug Store prior to becoming one of the first licensed Certified Nurses Aids in the state of Rhode Island. She then worked at the Baptist Home and Grand Islander. In the 1970's when few women actually owed their own businesses Noreen and her friend started their own home cleaning business. It was very successful.
Noreen loved to bake and make spaghetti & meatballs for her family. Her other interests were "her story," Days of Our Lives, reading, animals, needlepoint and being a life long Red Sox fan. She also loved chow mein sandwiches and Newport Creamery patty melts.
Noreen is survived by her daughter Tammy Lynn (Mosher) Patton and husband Wesley Patton: Grandchildren Sarah (Patton) Gaona & Nathan Gaona Sr; Joshua & Chandler Patton; Michaela Patton Great grandchildren Nathan Gaona jr, Noah Gaona, Parker Patton; Son Donald Mosher Jr & wife Sarah (Sims) Mosher; Grandchildren Donald Mosher III, Benjamin Mosher, Ava Mosher; Brothers Hubert "Huck" Little & wife Janice; Ronald "Bunny" Little as well as Numerous nieces & nephews. Noreen was preceded in death by Sister Norma (Little) Barry; Brothers Howard Little Jr and John "Jack" Little.
