Ollie R. DeVaughn, 63, of Newport, RI, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Newport Hospital.Born in Picanyune, MS on September 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Solomon "Saul" and Lillie Mae DeVaughn.Mr. DeVaughn was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.He is survived by his children, Lola DeVaughn (Bryant) of Miami, FL, Raymond DeVaughn of Rolla, MO, and Dorian Forgette of Burlington Township, NJ; his granddaughter, Shariah Howard of Miami, FL; his siblings, Ernestine DeVaughn, Earl DeVaughn, Fred Charles DeVaughn, Sammy Lee DeVaughn, and Betty Jean DeVaughn.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 6pm in the Newport Senior Center, 1 Eisenhower Road, Newport, RI.
