Newport - Pamela Bursey, 74, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away on November 12, 2018 at Heatherwood Nursing Center.
Born in Wakefield, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Morinho and Katherine Jencek Morinho.
Pamela grew up in Jamestown and attended St. Catherines School. She graduated High School in 1972 and was a 1982 graduate of the Allied Technical Institutes Medical Assistant Program and a 1984 graduate of the Executive Secretarial School in Newport.
She worked during the 1960s as a Nurses Aide at South County Hospital and then in 1979 as a Nurses Aide for the Grand Islander Health Care Center. Pamela worked as an Assistant Unit Clerk for Women and Infants Hospital in Providence in 1982 and in 1984 as a Nurses Aid for the Medical Personnel Pool in private homes and nursing homes throughout Newport.
Pamelas most loved hobby was gardening and was well known for her dedicated care of the many plants within her home. She was a gentle, caring, and very loving Mother and Grandmother who always went out of her way to brighten someones day and to strengthen the relationships she had with her many dear friends. Pamela loved Newport and enjoyed scenic rides around The Ocean Drive to see and hear the beauty of the ocean as its waves splashed against the shoreline which was always followed by a peaceful lunch. She cherished the precious time spent with her children and especially her grandchildren, who grew up admiring her and helping her anytime she needed them to be there for her. The memories Pamela has left with her friends and family will undoubtedly continue to inspire all who knew her for generations to come. She was a great person with a warm heart who cared more about others than of herself.
Pamela is survived by her two children; son Charles Wesley Bursey Jr, and daughter Kristen Ann Kennedy and her fianc Daniel Finn; her grandchildren, Katie Kennedy and her fianc Jesse Mushiana, Brian Kennedy Jr and his wife Carissa, Brandon Kennedy and his fiance Amanda Branch, Crystal Rameaka and her husband Damien, Gregory West and Jeffrey Boeck.
Pamela also leaves behind two great-grandchildren Zoe Kennedy Kaden Rameaka.
She was the sister of the late Katherine Dolliver.
Her memorial service will be held, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery.
