Patricia Ellen (Maisen) Ruggeri, 86, of Newport, died May 5, 2026, at Heatherwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Newport. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Richard Ruggeri in 2000.

She was born in Newport on Oct. 22, 1939, to Frank P. Maisen and Catherine (Curley) Maisen and graduated from Rogers High School in 1957.

Patricia worked for the James. L Maher Center in Newport from 1987 until 2002. Prior to that she raised her 8 children and worked for several area doctors.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Newport and was an active volunteer in the Rogers High School Alumni Association.

Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister Mae (Maisen) Dean and brothers Michael and Francis Maisen.

She leaves five sons: Joseph Ruggeri, of Pawcatuck, Ct, Paul Ruggeri of Whitinsville, MA, Peter Ruggeri of Middletown, RI, Christopher Ruggeri (Greta Methot) of Cranston, RI, and Matthew Ruggeri (Allison Miller) of Jamestown, RI; three daughters: Mary Rooney (James) of Charlestown RI, Anne Spooner of Sarasota, FL, and Louise Ruggeri, of Newport, RI; a brother, Edwin P. Maisen, of Tiverton RI; six grandchildren: Benjamin Spooner, Melissa Rooney, Nathan (Kim) Rooney, James Rooney (Diana), Victor Ruggeri, George Ruggeri; one great-grandchild, Quinn Rooney, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway-Newport, on Monday, May 11, from 4-7pm. Her funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 12, at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Columba Catholic Cemetery in Middletown, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Martin Luther King Center Food Bank in Newport, RI or Lucy's Hearth, in Middletown, RI.
