Patricia A. Terlisner, lovingly known as "Pat," (or "Mom-Mom", or "Mrs. T") 92, of Middletown, RI, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard L. Terlisner.
Born in Fall River, MA, on February 9, 1933, Pat was the daughter of the late Manuel and Ermalinda (Oliveira) Camara. After graduating from Durfee High School, she worked at Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing in Providence alongside her cousin, Elsie. While attending a dance at the YMCA in Newport, she met a young Navy sailor, Richard "Dick" Terlisner, from Alton, IL. They soon married. After his college graduation, they lived briefly in North Adams, MA, eventually making their home in Newport, where they raised their family.
A dedicated member of the Jesus Saviour Church community, Pat was active in the Rosary Sodality and Vasco da Gama, and regularly volunteered at church events. She enjoyed bowling with friends, sunny afternoons by the pool at her sister's house, and lively chats with Gen and her cousin Judy. Pat was known for opening her home to neighborhood children, where she earned the affectionate title of "Mom-Mom" or "Mrs. T" to many. The family home on Yale Street became a central gathering place for friends and neighbors alike.
Pat worked with her husband and family at a home-based business, RT Advertising. She also had a love for slot machines and often traveled with her friend Alice to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Newport Grand, Foxwoods, or Tiverton casinos. They always returned with great stories-win or lose.
She is survived by her children: Richard "Dick" Terlisner (Patricia) of Broomes Island, MD; John "Jack" Terlisner (Kathy) of Middletown; Robert "Bob" Terlisner of Saint Augustine, FL; Robyn Kestler of Middletown; and Susan Hotchkiss (Mike) of Milford, CT. She also leaves her sister, Genevieve Driscoll (Phil) of Portsmouth.
Pat will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Ashley (Kyle), Zachary (Kristin), Justin, and Vincent; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Lillian, Trevor, Sydney, Kiley, Emily, and Jordan. She is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Terlisner.
