Paula A. Ford, 53 of Newport, RI passed away unexpectedly at Landmark Medical Center inWoonsocket, RI on Saturday, May 19, 2018. She was born July 17, 1964, the daughter of Mary A. (Mello) Ford and the late Reginald H. Ford Sr.
Paula was a lifelong member of the James L. Maher Center participating in their educational, vocational, and community activities. She has been a resident ofJamariand Englewood Court group homes.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by: her brother, Ronald J. Ford and his fiance, Sally A.Swistakof Newport, her sisters, Kathleen Evans and her fianc, BobbyGoughof New Castle, Delaware and Brenda J.McCullockand her husband Steve of Chesapeake, Virginia. She is also survived by her maternal Aunt, Julia (Mello) Morgan and her husband Ralph of Newport who are also her Godparents. She is also survived her uncle, John M. Mello, and his wife Maria of Middletown.
She is preceded in death by her father; her brothers, Reginald H. Ford Jr. (Mary) of Portsmouth and Stephen P. Ford (Kimberly) of Middletown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4:00-7:00p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to James L. Maher Center, 120 Hillside Ave, Newport, RI 02840.
