Pauline Anderson

Jul 21, 1931 — Apr 15, 2026

Pauline Eleanor Anderson of Palmdale, CA peacefully entered into her eternal rest on April 15, 2026. Born in Providence, RI, on July 21, 1931 she was the youngest daughter of Edgar and Hilda (Caulfield) Higgins. Raised in Edgewood, she attended St. Paul's School and Cranston High, and was employed at Narragansett Electric as a Customer Relations specialist.

Pauline met the love of her life, Bill Anderson, at a local dance. Together they shared 60 happy years of married life. Bill was Brewmaster at the iconic Narragansett Brewery in Cranston, RI, where they settled and began raising their family of three children. Over the years the family relocated to Staten Island, NY, New Berlin, WI and Valencia CA, as Bill's brewing skills were in demand at a number of the world's foremost breweries. Pauline made every house a loving home. After retirement, she and Bill moved to Palmdale California in order to be closer to their grandchildren: Amanda, Emily and Hillary Anderson.

In later years they did volunteer work with the elderly, accompanying them to doctor appointments and helping organize their financial records. They also worked with the local hospice service, providing comfort to those at the end of their lives.

Pauline was beloved as a cheerful and fun-loving mother, grandmother (Nana), aunt and sister. She is survived by her children, Paul Anderson (Clarrisse), Susan Liberto (Bill) and Donna Cressy (Jeff); her sister, Nancy Poutray; and several generations of nieces, nephews, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She enjoyed trying and sharing new recipes from her Taste of Home magazine and was famous for her potato salad, her Thanksgiving gravy and Snickerdoodle cookies. She loved to hold hands and have heart to heart talks, and gave wonderful hugs. She was a champion comparison shopper and loved a good mall shopping trip with her family and friends. Sitting by the ocean and watching the waves was a favorite pastime. Her sunny smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Pauline was pre-deceased by her twin sister Josephine, who died in infancy; her sisters Marjorie Orme and Huberta Kapowich; and her Brothers-In-Law, Arthur Poutray, William Orme III, and Col. John Kapowich, USMC.
