Pauline Claire Watson, 78, of Jepson Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died at Newport Hospital on Thursday, February 19, 2009. She was the wife of the late George Raymond Watson. Born in Fall River, MA on March 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Katherine McCloskey Dennis.Pauline loved reading mystery novels, but most of all loved having a good laugh with family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all but especially by her beloved daughter Ellie.She is survived by her five children, her sons Michael Watson of Newport, Charles Watson and his wife Theresa of Stonington, CT, Kevin Watson of Portsmouth, and her daughters Marjorie Spence and her husband Robert of Portsmouth and Eleanor Watson of Newport. She was the grandmother of Bethany Watson of New York City, NY, Joshua Watson of New Haven, CT, Laura Ruscetta of St. Petersburg, FL and Thomas Spence of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by her sisters Peggy Special of Leesburg, FL, and Mary Lou Santos of Bristol, RI, brothers Paul Dennis of Leesburg, FL, Larry Dennis of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and William Dennis of Newport. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles E. Dennis Jr.Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 starting with visiting hours from 10:00-11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the James L. Maher Center, PO Box 4390, Middletown, RI 02842.
