Peter Bottomley

January 19, 1953 — March 28, 2024

Peter Howell Bottomley, 71, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, died on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA after a long illness.

Born in Attleboro, MA on January 19, 1953, he was the son of Newell and Anita Bottomley.  He grew up in Attleboro, while also enjoying homes on Martha’s Vineyard and in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee.  It was inevitable that Peter would have a love of the ocean and of boats, having several sail boats and powerboats over his lifetime.

Peter also had a great love for his current home – Cliff Farm (David Durfee House) in Tiverton, RI – where he and Debra have chickens, goats, fruit trees and grape vines on their 1768 property backing up to Pocasset Ridge.

Peter worked with his father, who started a manufacturing company in Attleboro, Bottomley & Robbins Company.   On his father’s death, Peter continued as owner of Bottomley and Robbins, primarily producing military medal mounts for all areas of the armed services.

Peter is survived by his wife, Debra, their son, Michael and his wife, Alexandra, of Randolph, MA.   He also leaves two brothers, Art and Bruce Bottomley, one sister, Carol Landroche, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the West Place Animal Sanctuary,
3198 Main Road, Tiverton, RI 02878, honoring his great love of wildlife and animals.
