Obituary

Randy Edward Gifford, 65, of Westport, Massachusetts, passed away on October 14, 2026, in Florida, doing something he loved. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Randy lived a life defined by hard work, laughter, humility, and an extraordinary love for his family and others.

Randy grew up in Mount Sterling, Ohio, and was the son of Bobby Joe Gifford and Francis Faye Gifford. He leaves behind his loving wife, Nanette Gifford; his children, Skylar Gifford, Amanda Gifford-Foster and her husband Matt, Lindsay Lee-Gifford, and Justin Gifford; and those he loved as his own children, Norma Muralles, Marlen Parkos, and Christopher Antao. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Sophia Foster, Ben Lee, Olivia Lee, and Amelia Yeh; his sisters, Ruth Brown and Bobbie Gore; and countless extended family members and friends.

As president and owner of Innovative Construction, Randy built a successful business grounded in hard work, trust, and lasting relationships. He took pride in helping others succeed, sharing his knowledge, offering guidance, and creating opportunities for those around him.

Randy was one of the most humble and generous people you could ever meet. He was a steadfast supporter of local police officers and charitable organizations, including Gnome Surf and Give Kids The World. Much of his generosity took place quietly, as Randy never sought recognition or the spotlight. For him, helping others was simply the right thing to do.

His personality was unforgettable. With his contagious laugh, playful spirit, and positive outlook, Randy had a special way of making people feel welcome and valued. One of his favorite sayings was, "Look at my hair, doesn't it look so beautiful today." He believed in playing hard and working even harder.

Above all, Randy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was someone people could count on, always ready with support, advice, or a helping hand. He taught his children strong work ethic, humility, forgiveness of others, how to love their families wholeheartedly, and approach life with positivity. His heart extended far beyond his immediate family, welcoming others and treating them as his own.

Outside of work, Randy enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with family, and staying active at the boxing gym. He had many other interests and hobbies, far too numerous to list. Randy embraced life to the fullest, finding happiness in the experiences he enjoyed and, most importantly, in the people he loved.

Randy's legacy extends far beyond the business he built. It lives on through his family, Innovative Construction, the people he mentored, the charities he supported, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness. He showed others that true success is measured not only by what you accomplish, but by how you treat people and the difference you make in their lives.

Randy was strong, brave, intelligent, compassionate, and truly one of a kind. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his laughter, generosity, and love will live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known him. He made people feel like family, gave without expecting anything in return, and left the world better than he found it. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes charitable donations in Randy's memory to Gnome Surf or Give Kids the World, organizations that reflect his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.

Calling Hours will be held at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, on Tuesday, October 27 from 4:00-7:00pm. A Remembrance Service will take place at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
