Raymond F. Gomes, 71, Portsmouth, RI, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Friday August 18, 2017.He was the husband of Cathyanne (Moniz) Gomes.Born in Providence, RI on August 30, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank S. and Mary (Matthews) Gomes.Raymond was employed as a tow truck driver for RI Towing for over 30 years.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Gomes of Newport, RI; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Oliva, Dylan Gomes and Christian Gomes; and his great-grandson, Lakai Alleyne.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Following the service there will be a procession on the "Ocean Drive" in honor of Raymond.
