Rev. Willard (Bill) Albertus, 89, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 in the John Clarke Nursing Center, Middletown. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Cornelia (Connie) Albertus.
Bill, who was beloved by so many, died early on a beautiful, sunny, Sunday morning after a long battle with Parkinsons. He devoted his life to helping others by serving as a pastor for the United Methodist Church for over forty years and as a marriage counselor for decades. All his life he has been a solid example of what it means to walk in faith and to serve God by helping others. Bill participated in many mission trips to Haiti and was active in the CUMAC soup kitchen. One of his favorite hobbies was making all manner of wooden toys most of which he gave to inner city school children. He enjoyed gardening, plowing up his backyard to plant tomatoes, rhubarb and many other delicious vegetables. Most of all, Bill enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Connie.
Born in Prairie du Sac, WI, he was the son of the late Dewey and Bernice (Leppla) Albertus.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children Jered W. Albertus and his wife Patricia of New Windsor, NY and Joanna B. Dragone and her husband David of Middletown.
