Richard Perkins

Dr. Richard Perkins, age 81, of Portsmouth died Friday, August 11, 2017 at home in Portsmouth. Dr. Perkins was born February 26, 1936 in Springfield, MA . He is the son of the late Harry and the late Anne (Dunlop) Perkins. He married Jean Carlberg. Richard graduated from Newington High School and later graduated from Trinity College and New York Medical College. He then served in the US Navy as a flight surgeon and hospital physician. He practiced medicine in Tiverton, Hanover Medical Building in Fall River, and in Somerset.He was also a past president of the Fall River Country Club and team physician for the Portsmouth High School Football team. He was also member of the Fall River Medical Society and a Fellow of American College of Physicians. He is survived by his wife: Jean (Carlberg) Perkins and three daughters: Wendy Perkins, Kristine Perkins and Deborah Jeppesen and her husband Klaus. He also has three grandchildren; Grand Daughter, Grace Perkins; grandson, Richard Jeppesen; granddaughter, Alexandra Jeppesen. Richard is also survived by Keo Inthasoroth who was regarded as a son as well as his chidren Michael, Amanda, and Richard Inthasoroth.Calling hours will be Friday, August 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
