Middletown, RI - Richard Rich S. Lacey, 62, of 953 Wapping Road, Middletown, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 17, 2009 at home.He was the husband of Karen Sanders Lacey. Born in Newport, RI on March 14, 1947, he was the son of the late William J. and Nancy Shepley Lacey.Rich was a Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 1st Air Cav., 2/7th.He worked as a purchasing manager at Newport Grand and the Officers Club on the Newport Naval Base. Rich opened and operated PWS Saloon in Washington, DC and then in the Brick Market Place. Rich was a member of various organizations including the American Legion, the Viking Riders and Ocean State Vietnam Veterans Chapter. Rich especially enjoyed his Saturdays riding his motorcycle and having coffee with his friend Chet Straka.Besides his wife of 35 years, he is survived by his daughters, Chyana Lacey of Newport, RI and Erika Koohy and her husband Jason of Middletown, RI, his grandsons Seth Shackelford and Kaden Webster of Newport, RI, and his brothers William J. Lacey, Jr. of Alexandria, VA and James M. Lacey of Middletown, RI.
