Richard Shepard

Richard C. Shepard, 88, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away at John Clarke Nursing Home on July 25, 2019.
Richard was born in Bryan, OH to the late Willis Shepard and Celia (Sindle) Shepard. He was the husband of the late Nancy C. (Coen) Shepard.
Richard is survived by his children, Kathleen E. Edwards and her husband Jay, of Tiverton RI, Lori Zarlenga of Fort Myers, FL, and his son, Richard C. Shepard, Jr., of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves his six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Richard worked at the Bank of Newport for many years. Following the steps of the Scottish Rite. Richard was a 32 degree Mason and past Master of St. Pauls Masonic Lodge. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge and served as treasurer for many years. He also was a member of the Palestine Shrine where he served on the Motor Corp.
A memorial service for Richard will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at John Clarke Nursing Home, 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI.
