Richmond Farias

Richmond Farias, 84, passed away on December 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and a lifelong love of classic cars.

Born on August 26, 1941, Richmond was the son of the late Adelia Payton and Jake Farias. He was a devoted father to his son, Michael Farias, a proud grandfather to Barry, Ryan, Christen, Michael, Isaac, and Haylee, and great-grandfather to Brianna, Barry, Leigha, Lillian, Isabel, Elianna, Avery, and Mila, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Richmond is also survived by his siblings, Janice and Rodney.

A self-employed business owner in the automotive industry, Richmond spent much of his life doing what he loved most-working in his shop, building and painting old-school cars, and sharing stories with friends who shared his passion. When he wasn't in the shop, he could be found outside tending to his land and grass, enjoying the fresh air and the simple satisfaction of a job well done.

August was Richmond's favorite month-not just because it was his birthday, but because it marked the annual car show he lived for each year. He was overjoyed in the presence of hot rods, classic cars, and the friends who gathered alongside him. His smile was constant, his laughter easy, and his happiness contagious. He especially loved going on car rides with friends, soaking in the moment and the road ahead. And at the end of a good day, nothing beat a bowl of his favorite coffee ice cream.

Calling hours will be held at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00-10:30 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Columba Catholic Cemetery, 465 Brown's Ln., Middletown.

In true Richmond fashion, he would love for friends and family to honor him by driving their hot rods and classic cars and taking one last ride in his memory-a fitting tribute to a man whose life was fueled by engines, friendship, and joy.
