Robert W. Silva, 86, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019.
Robert was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island to the late John F. Silva and Gertrude (Charbonneau) Silva.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cecelia (Savasta) Silva and his sister Connie Keener.
Mr. Silva had a long and distinguished career in the US Navy, retiring as Chief Boatswains Mate.
During his career he traveled worldwide with his final duty station at Naval Station Newport in
Newport, Rhode Island as a Yard Patrol Vessel Instructor. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and fresh water fishing.
Robert is survived by his children: Gary Silva and his wife Margie of Bristol RI, and Gordon Silva and
his wife Holly, of Portsmouth RI, and Lisa Bryant and her husband, William, of Fall River, MA.
He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
