Roger Hamilton King, Sr

Barrington, RI - Roger Hamilton King, Sr., 94, of 58 Bowden Avenue, Barrington, RI, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.He was the husband of Josephine King and the late Elizabeth Griffith King. Born in Plymouth, MA, on November 4, 1914, he was the son of the late George and Bertha West King.Mr. King was a graduate of Rogers High School. He was one of the first surfers in Newport. Mr. King was a member of the Experimental Aviation Organization and built his own aircraft in his eighties. Besides his current wife, he is survived by his son Roger H. King, Jr. of Newport, RI, four grandchildren, Jocelyn Lee of Brooklyn, NY, Lauren Lee of Wilton, CT, John J. Lee, III of Larchmont, NY and Roger H. Lee of Palo Alto, CA, four step children, Glen St. Pierre, Karen St. Pierre, Michael St. Pierre and Justin St. Pierre, and eleven great grandchildren.
