Ronald J. Goff

Middletown, RI - Ronald J. Goff, 68, of 34 Rogers Lane, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.Born in Pawtucket, RI on February 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Catherine Short Goff.Mr. Goff attended Rogers High School but enlisted in the US Air Force and received his G.E.D. while in the Air Force. Over the years he worked for moving companies on Aquidneck Island and also for Frito Lay in Fall River. Most of his working career was with the Public Works Department on the Newport Naval Base. He was a member of the Newport Elks where he was past Grand Exulted Ruler. Mr. Goff was one of the original members of the Park Holm Boys Club and recently organized their reunion. He is survived by his brother Harold Goff of Newport, RI, his sister Gail Smith of Middletown, RI and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 1-4pm at the Elks Lodge, Pelham Street, Newport.Calling hours are omitted.
