Rosalie Ann Connell (Beebe), a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed
away peacefully at John Clarke Nursing Home on February 14th, 2026. She was 87 years old.
She was the wife of the late Philip Connell. They were married for 66 years.
Born on March 4th, 1938 in Newport, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late William and
Rose Anan Beebe (Tribuso). Rosalie dedicated her life to creating a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She was the heart of her family-known for her kindness, her home-cooked meals, and her steady presence through every season of life, especially her holiday feasts and festivities. Rosalie found joy in the simple things, tending to
her garden, lunches out with family and friends, spending everyday moments with her grandchildren, celebrating even their simplest milestones to their greatest personal achievements.
She was always her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. Her family and friends will remember
her nurturing, generous, and non-presumptuous nature-always responding with a listening ear and an open heart.
Rosalie is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Patton (Tom), and two grandchildren Kaitlin Patton,
Kourtney Haran (Robert), her sister Inga Sheekey, brothers Richard Beebe (Lynn), Robert Beebe (Gerrie) and Jimmy Beebe. Rosalie was preceded in death by her son Dr. William Connell, and her brothers William Beebe, Donald Beebe and John Beebe.
Rosalie's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at John Clarke Nursing Home, who cared for her mother with kindness, compassion, and a warmheartedness during her stay.
Calling hour will be held on Monday, February 23rd at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI from 8:30 to 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Augustin Catholic Church, 2 Eastnor Road, (Corner of Carroll Ave. & Harrison Ave) Newport, RI. Interment will follow in Chapel of Saint Columba Cemetery, Browns Lane, Middletown, RI.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Augustin's Church honoring Rosalie's legacy of care and compassion.
