Rose Helen Rosa

Middletown, RI - Rose Helen Rosa, 89, of 49 Rosa Road, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at , Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Henry Charles Rosa to whom she was married for 61 years. Born in Newport, RI on November 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Frank Moniz and Mary Medeiros Silvia. Rose was a sweet soul who was kind and giving. She had been an excellent seamstress, fine cook, and loving wife and mother. Although illness had taken her strength, and mental sharpness, she was pleasant and accommodating till the end. The family wishes to thank Roses wonderful caregiver Susan Waluk and her son Josh who made Roses last years at home possible. She is survived by her daughter Carol Walder and her husband James of Little Compton, RI, her daughter-in-law Christine Silvernail, her brother Frank Silvia, her sisters, Mary Leyden, Gloria Silvia and Flora Borsare, her sister-in-law Helen Oliveira, her grandchildren Jeremy Rosa and his wife Connie, and Elizabeth Rosa, many nieces and nephews and her beloved caregiver Susan Waluk.She was the mother of the late Henry Charles Rosa, Jr. and the sister of the late Anthony Moniz, Manuel Silvia and Jessie Silvia. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 10:30 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.
