Rose J. Fitzherbert

Rose Josephine Lee Fitzherbert, a long time resident of Newport, at the age 85, died Monday, May 8, 2017 after a long illness with cancer, at Newport Hospital of Newport, RI. Rose was born May 9, 1931 in Manhattan, NY. She is the daughter of the late Napoleon and the late Alveria (Devito) Vasconi. She married her husband, the late Roy Fitzherbert. Rose worked as a receptionist at Naval Station Newport. She was also a member of Wanumetonomy Country Club. She was well known by many friends in Newport. Worked at many restaurants in the area.She is survived by her sister Mary Sylvester of Arizona; her brother Mario Vasconi of Staten Island, NY; her niece Nancy M Nicodemus of Ossining, NY, her newphew Sebastian Inzana, of Brooksville, Fla., along with many other nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, July 29 at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
