Sandra E. Brownell

Sandra Edith Brownell, age 79, of Portsmouth died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at home in Portsmouth. Sandra was born April 23, 1938 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Edith Mae (Reichert) Lloyd. Today we celebrate the life of an amazing women, our mom. She was a sister, grandmother, great grandmother, best friend, even a partner in crime. Our mom was a bravely independent women, who loved beyond words, her children and their families. Our lives are a true testament to who she was as a person. Our mom gave us the best gift, she loved us. Her love was unconditional, without reservation, and fierce. No matter where in this world we were, she was always a phone call away. She was always there with a suggestion or words of wisdom, even if we didnt want to hear it. It was often said, she was the one with the least, who gave the most. May you rest in peace and rejoice in the comfort of those whom have gone before you.She is survived by two daughters, Kelly A. Boyd and her husband Stan of Portsmouth, RI and Shannon L. Wingblade and her husband G. Jeffrey of Manassas, VA, and one son, Mark A. Brownell of Portsmouth, RI, her sister Christina Lloyd Robinson, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her sons, Alfred J. Brownell and David A. Brownell, and by her brothers, Frederick Lloyd and William Lloyd.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 4:00-7:00pm, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the Memorial Funeral Home, Newport.
