Sharon L. Scott

Sharon L Scott, 66, of Tiverton passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018, at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a two-year courageous battle with brain cancer. Sharon was born on June 17, 1951, in Newport, RI. She was married to John Scott for 34 years. She is the daughter of the late Anthony Somerfield Jr. and Elsie Victoria (Perry) Somerfield. Sharon was a very loving and kind, daughter, wife, mother and friend, who loved teaching children. She worked as an educator in the Tiverton School District for over 20 years. Together, she and her husband, John, raised three wonderful children. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband: John Scott, her children, Christopher Marikian, of Los Angeles, CA., Jennifer Scott of Bristol, RI, and Bryan Scott of Los Angeles, CA; her mother Elsie Victoria (Perry) Somerfield of Middletown, RI and her brother Bruce Somerfield and his wife Paula, of Albany, CA; as well as many cousins and friends.At Sharon's request, there will be no visiting hours.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI, followed by a burial service at the chapel of St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 1 Jude Place Building, P.O.
