Sheila Louise Traynum

Sheila Louise Traynum, 64, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019.Sheila was born in New London, Connecticutto late Normanand Gladys Traynum. Sheila grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised her children in Rhode Island. She volunteered in the medical field in addition to beinga long time foster parent. Sheila was always known for caring for others. She was a member of Workman A.M.E. Zion Church inConnecticut. She had a strong love in the Most High, and will always be remembered saying Have a Blessed Day!

She was known affectionately by many nicknames, including Ma, Scratch, Pumpkin, Sheil, and Weezy.

She leaves to mourn their loss: Arlene Tillman, Sharlene Fountain, Diane Laiscell, Deborah Traynum, Delois Lindsey, Jeleta Brown, Valerie Robinson, Leonard Traynum, David Traynum, Annette Traynum, Marvin Traynum, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters; Geraldine Keelen and Doreen Traynum.

Sheila is survived by her two sonsMarlin Traynum and his wife Shantay of Houston, Texas and Todd Traynum and his wife Charlene of Wakefield, RI. Sheila leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: Marlin, Kea, Nyjee, Judarius, Sky, Trey, Taja, Emarijahanea, Tynaya, Sincere, Jahnvi, Tenae, Tekhi and Todd Lamont Traynum Jr., and one great granddaughter, Talae.

Viewing for Sheila Traynum will be held on Saturday January 26, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home 325 Broadway Newport, RI 02840 from 5:00-7:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 6:00pm.
