Steven A. Schreiner

Steven A. Schreiner, 69, of Jepson Lane, Portsmouth, RI and Cape Coral, FL, died peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He passed away at home with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Margaret "Peggy" (McNamara) Schreiner.Born in Bronx, NY on July 6, 1946, he was the son of the late May McLaughlin Schreiner.Mr. Schreiner was a US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Roger Williams University. Mr. Schreiner was an Accountant for the State of RI for 28 years. Upon retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his four grandsons, playing Bocce with his friends in Florida, working in his yard, and was an avid boater, fisherman and golfer.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Steven J. Schreiner and his wife, Meaghan, of Tiverton, RI and Adam Schreiner and his wife, Alene, of Newtown Square, PA; his four grandsons, Jameson, Owen, Aidan and Andre Schreiner; and his brother, Michael McLaughlin and his wife, Cornelia, of Punta Gorda, FL.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
