Susan L Stroup, 62, of Middletown passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Royal Middletown Nursing Center in Middletown. Susan was born August 10, 1954 in Newport, RI, the daughter of Shirley Cochran of Newport and the late Frank Aguiar Sr.Susan was a lifelong resident of Aquidneck Island. For over 30 years she was a dedicated member of the VFW Auxiliary for the Middletown Post, and previously served as Post President.In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters: Suzanne Deasley of Warwick, RI and Shirelle Stroup of Middletown, RI, and two sons: David Stroup of Fall River, MA and Chip Stroup of Frisco, TX; two sisters: Shirley Araujo of Newport, RI and Marion Aguiar of Pawtucket, RI, and three brothers: Frank Aguiar Jr. of Newport, RI, Roger Aguiar of Virginia Beach, VA and James Aguiar of Oklahoma. She also leaves seven grandchildren; John and Mason Blackwell; Austin and Alison Stroup; Datyn Deasley, Ava Stroup, David Deasley Jr., two great grandchildren Greenley and Winter Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her son John Stroup.Calling hours will be Thursday, May 4 from 4:00-7:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a memorial service at 6:30pm in the funeral home.
