Suzanne Sherman Sousa

Suzanne S. Sousa, 64, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away on May 24, 2018. Born on February 15, 1954 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of George Dewick and Joyce (Sherman) Roche. She was the wife of the late Richard Sousa.
Suzanne was a title examiner for many years. A profession that was passed down from her grandfather, Arthur Sherman, the town clerk of Portsmouth for decades. He taught her mother, who in turn taught her son and all 4 of her daughters.
Suzanne was an excellent seamstress, making slip covers, clothes, and wedding dresses. As well as, excelling at crafts of any kind.
She was an avid animal lover, having cats and dogs of all breeds in her life.
Suzanne is survived by her sisters Shirley Roche Mello of Middletown and Stefani Roche of Portsmouth, stepchildren Lucas Sousa of Boston and Jessica Sousa of New York. Also leaving behind many nieces and nephews.
Along with her late father, mother and husband, she is predeceased by her brother George Dewick (Dewey) Roche Jr., her sister Syndee Schaeffer and her nephew George Dewick (Gig) Roche III.
Calling Hours will be held Friday June 1 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Rd, Route 114, Portsmouth, RI 02871 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St Pauls Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, RI, 2679 E Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
Burial will immediately follow in St. Pauls Episcopal Churchyard Cemetery.
