Thomas R. Craft, 77, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away on June 4, 2026 with family by his side. He was the husband of the late Beverly (DeMenezes) Craft. Born in Newport, RI on November 8, 1948, he was the son of Jason and Ann (Kain) Craft.
Thomas and Beverly raised their family in the Fifth Ward of Newport, later moving to Middletown. He was a hardworking provider for his family, working for many years at Raytheon, then as a general contractor in Newport, and later as a self-employed property manager, maintaining many condominium properties around Newport. Over the years, Tom enjoyed golfing, playing pool, a good cigar, and especially enjoyed playing a game of pitch with his granddaughter, Carolyn. He loved being on the waters of Newport, boating when the children were young, and fishing for years after. He and Bev loved traveling to the Azores with friends, enjoying the food, wine, and rustic views.
Thomas is survived by his children; a son, Thomas J. Craft of Narragansett, his daughters, Heather Andrews of North Providence, Christine Craft of Newport, Jennifer Craft and her wife Anne-Marie Rosa of North Dartmouth, his granddaughters Carolyn Craft of Virginia and Stephanie Craft of Massachusetts, as well as two of his siblings; William Craft and Margaret O'Neill, both of Newport, and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly Craft; his parents Jason and Ann Craft, his uncle Thomas Raymond Craft, his brother Jason Craft, and his two sisters, Ann Glynn and Irene Donahue.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, Rhode Island. Funeral Services will begin in the same location on June 13, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Spring Street, Newport. Thomas will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Columba's Cemetery. Burial will be private.
Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
