Thomas William Winkler

Thomas 'Tommy' Winkler, 54, of Newport, died Tuesday May 23 at home. Tommy was born in Westfield, MA on March 29, 1963. He is the son of the late Charles and Marion Winkler. He is survived by his brothers Paul (Teasha) and Eric (Kathy) and sister Barbara (Rob), 5 nieces, 2 nephews and his cat Marina.Tommy graduated from East Greenwich High School and then proceeded to work for the US Postal Service at the main office in Providence for 22 years. He was an avid boater and fisherman. He loved animals and worked as a cat socializer at the Potter League for Animals in Middletown. Tommy was a friend to everyone who knew him. He never let his physical challenges get the best of him.
