Violet Lucille Amore

Violet Amore, a beloved member of the Looking Upwards community, passed away on May 31, 2026 at the age of 78. Born in West Virginia, Violet was a treasured part of the community across Aquidneck Island.

Violet was an accomplished artist. She loved to host parties, go out to eat, and go on shopping trips. Violet was an active member of Evangelical Friends Church in Middletown, RI. She will be remembered for her kindness and warmth, especially among her family and friends.

Violet is survived by her devoted boyfriend Larry Steeves (Middletown, RI), her brothers Domingo Farias (Valdosta, GA), and Joseph Farias (Newport, RI), and her very dear housemates Tom, Audra, Denise, and Frances. She will be missed by the devoted staff at Willow Drive.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 10am on Thursday, June 18th, at Evangelical Friends Church located at 70 Bliss Mine Road, Middletown, RI 02842. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery located at 947 Main Road, Westport, MA 02790.

Violet was predeceased by her mother, Rosemary Anderson, whom she adored.
