IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Dene
Beltz
January 11, 1925 – December 13, 2025
Virginia Beltz (Ginny), age 100, of Newport RI died on 12/13/2025 at St Clare Home, Newport RI, following a period of failing health.
Ginny was born in Marlboro Mass on 01/11/1925 to Bertis & Annie Walcott. She enlisted in the US Navy and served for 3 years during the Korean Conflict. She married William J Beltz and had two children: William JR (Skip) and Sandra. The family residence was in Middletown.
Ginny received her BS in Library science from Roger Williams University and had a career as the Director of Medical Records at various New England hospitals. She retired in 1990 and settled into her home in the Fifth Ward.
Ginny was a long-time member of Trinity Church and served on the Vestry. She was very patriotic, and a member of several US Navy waves organizations. She enjoyed travelling, walking along the beach and loved to read. When her vision failed, she read "books on tape" and participated in the VA Blind Veterans programs.
Her greatest joys were her family, neighbors and friends. She is survived by her son Skip Beltz of San Miquel, Mexico and her daughter Sandra Van Dessel (Larry) of Dover, NH. Ginny has 3 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren, who will miss her infectious laugh and love of life.
Her family would like to thank God for his providence, loving mercy and grace. They greatly appreciate the long-time service of Caitlyn Casey, mom's aide and companion, and Ginny's devoted neighbors and friends for their incredible support and care of her.
Lastly, the family commends the entire staff at St Clare Home, for their compassionate care of their mom this past year.
Per her request, a celebration of Ginny's life will be held on Easton's Beach later this summer.
