Middletown, - Virginia M. (Edward) Belko,88, of Middletown, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Martin G. Belko for 58 years but it wasn't long enough for her. Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian (Stapleton) Edward. Mrs. Belko worked as a Consierge for the former Sheraton Hotel on Goat Island, and for many years worked for the New England Telephone Co. She was a member of the needlework guild at Trinity Church and a member of the Needlepoint Kneelers. She is survived by her daughter Linda Burns and her husband Michael of Middletown, RI. Virginia also leaves her grandchildren Trevor Mason, Caleigh Mason and Colby Mason all of Middletown.She was the mother of the late Robin Ann Mason and sister of the late James Edward, Jr., Robert Edward, Gloria Lane and Muriel Jankuska.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00am in Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Newport.
