William G. Kuiee, a lifelong resident of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on February 17, 1943, William was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and commitment to his community.
William graduated from Rogers High School and proudly served in the Army beginning in 1965, demonstrating his dedication to service and duty. He went on to work for 38 years in the public works department for the city of Newport, where his unwavering commitment and diligence impacted countless lives and shaped the very fabric of the community he loved.
He was married to his beloved wife, Annie Kuiee, for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with joy and laughter.
An avid sports enthusiast, William enjoyed playing in the men's league softball, where his competitive spirit and love for the game brought friends and family together. His laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. William was known as the numbers guy--always willing to help those who needed it.
He is survived by his beloved wife Annie D. Kuiee and his daughters Karon Hilton and her hisband, Ronald Hilton, Yolanda Jill Kuiee, and Flavia Gene Kuiee. He leaves behind his last surviving brother Jack Kuiee. William is survived by 9 grandchildren: Devon Piscz, Xavier Piscz and his wife, Cheyenne Piscz, Ronald Hilton Jr, Donovan Hilton, Cameron Hilton, Barron Hilton, Taylor Ann Shaffer, Parrish Luciano Piticse, and Chloe Ann Crosby Kuiee aka (Ozzie). He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Devon Jr, Owen, and Levi Piscz.
To honor William's life and legacy, and the deep connections that will be cherished for generations. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 18 2026 from 11:00am- 1:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home with Military Honors immediately following at 1:00pm. All are invited to continue the celebration of his life at the VWF Post 4487, 52 Underwood Ln., Middletown following services.
