William Thomas Campbell

William Thomas Campbell, of Newport, RI, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in the John Clarke Nursing Center.He was the husband of Jane Marie (Integlia) Campbell.Born in Newport, RI on December 1, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (McCarthy) Campbell.Mr. Campbell was a 1947 graduate of Rogers High Sch ool. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during the Korean War and later in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. Bill worked for the City of Newport Water Department for 30 years, retiring in 1994.Mr. Campbell was a member of the Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club where he was a charter member and secretary of the Aquidneck Golf League. He was also a former member of the Newport Yacht Club.Besides his wife, Jane, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late John Robert Campbell, George David Campbell, Francis Campbell, Catherine MacDonald, Mary Esther James, Elizabeth Ada Campbell and Margaret Anna Rick.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Friday, June 15, at 9:00AM, from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, in St. Mary's Church, Spring Street, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba's Cemetery in Middletown.Donations in his memory may be made to St. Marys Building Fund, 12 William Street, Newport, RI 02840 or to the John Clarke Nursing Center, 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842
