What You'll Do
Dignified Transfer & Care
- Assist with the respectful transfer of decedents from homes, hospitals, facilities, and the medical examiner
- Ensure everyone is handled with care, following established company procedures and family or cultural preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation for each transfer
Cremation Operations
- Operate crematory equipment safely and in accordance with state regulations and company protocols
- Verify identity and authorization paperwork before each cremation
- Maintain detailed records and logs as required by law
- Perform light maintenance, cleaning, and monitoring of equipment
- Assist families during scheduled final moments and goodbyes, as assigned
Facility & Equipment Care
- Maintain cleanliness and preparedness of the care center, vehicles, and crematory areas
- Perform daily safety checks and report equipment issues promptly
Team & Family Support
- Work closely with funeral directors to ensure workflow is smooth and timely
- Communicate respectfully with families, colleagues, and community partners
- Protect the confidentiality of every family we serve
What This Actually Involves
- Work includes driving, standing, lifting, and operating specialized equipment
- Exposure to varying temperatures across the care center, crematory, and outdoor transfers
- Regular contact with decedents and grieving families
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift and maneuver 75 lbs.
- Previous funeral service or medical-field experience is helpful but not required; we provide full training
